I am so excited for you to make your own Sunny Pillow using my pattern! I was really inspired by the beautiful weather that recently started and I was always saying how “I just love how sunny it is” and I thought it would be SUCH a cute addition to my home to have a little sun pillow on my chair or couch!
This patter is free on my site but if you would like a PDF copy I do have it listed on my etsy “PaisleysPlushies” as a paid document.
Let’s get into crocheting!
Disclaimer: Please do not share, distribute or claim this pattern as your own. Due to your yarn, hook or tension, your plushie may be smaller or larger. This is my own original pattern and I hope you enjoy it and love your sun pillow when you’re done!
Materials:
Size 6 yarn (I used ⅔ a skein of sweet snuggles lite)
5 mm size hook
Stitch Marker (optional)
Polyfil
Darning Needle
Abbreviations to Know:
MR- Magic Ring
Sc- Single Crochet
Inc- Increase (2 stitches in 1 stitch)
Dec- Decrease (crochet 2 stitches together)
FO- Fasten off
Tips For The Pattern:
The sun points will be crocheted directly into the center of the sun; if you have never done this before you will fold the sun point in half and then crochet directly into the front stitch, the back stitch, then the next stitch in your circle center. Continue this for every stitch, there should be the exact amount of stitches in the center as there are for sun points.
Before closing the center, I will use the tail from the sun point ends that are in the center and will use my darning needle and make a few knots. This will ensure they don’t fall out and are more secure.
The Pattern
Sun Points (make 7 total)

R8: (sc around) [21]
R9: (6sc, inc) x3 [24]

Sun Center

R4: (2sc, inc) X6 [24]
R5: (3sc, inc) X6 [30]

R10: (8sc, inc) X6 [60]
R11: (9sc, inc) X6 [66]
R12: (10sc, inc) X6 [72]
R13: (11sc, inc) X6 [78]
R14: (12sc, inc) X6 [84]
R15: sc around [84]
R16: sc around, while adding a sun point in every stitch, you will do this by folding the point in half and single crochet through both sides and the next stitch in the center circle. Make sure to stuff each point as you are crocheting them on. A description is in the “tips” section on the first page for further help!
R17: (sc around) [84]
R18: (12 sc, dec) X6 [78]
R19: (11sc, dec) X6 [72]
R20: (10sc, dec) X6 [66]
At this point, I recommend securing those tails from the sunpoints by using a needle weaving it through the inside, and tying knots.
R21: (9sc, dec) x6 [60]
R22: (8sc, dec) x6 [54]
R23: (7sc, dec) x6 [48]
Start stuffing the center and stuff as needed as the center hole closes more.
R24: (6sc, dec) x6 [42]
R25: (5 sc, dec) x6 [36]
R26: (4 sc, dec) x6[30]
R27: (3sc, dec ) x6 [24]
R28: (2sc, dec) x6 [18]
R29: (1sc, dec) x6 [12]
R30: (dec around) x6 [6]
FO and close the center with the yarn tail. Make sure your center is stuffed enough before closing.
